Frequently asked questions
How is ROI calculated?
ROI = (amount returned − amount invested) ÷ amount invested × 100.
What is annualised ROI?
It is the yearly compound rate that turns the amount invested into the amount returned over the period: (returned ÷ invested)^(1 ÷ years) − 1.
Why compare annualised returns?
A 50% return over 10 years is very different from 50% in one year. Annualised figures let you compare investments held for different periods.
